CASL Bill Caulkins City Meet THIS WEEKEND: July 14-15, 2017 at the Arlene Crye Pool in Fort Oglethrope, GA
Good luck to all those Baylor Swim Club athletes representing their respective summer league teams, and competing in the CASL Bill Caulkins City Meet this Friday and Saturday (July 14-15, 2017) at the Arlene Crye Pool in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. This meet is one of the most important weekend's for the Baylor Swim Club in attracting athletes to our club for the upcoming 2017-2018 season. Please feel free to bring your friends to the Baylor Swim Club tent, and encourage those to come to the tent who are interested in joining our team. Coach Flack, Coach Brian, and Coach Laura will be at the meet all weekend long, and we are looking forward to watching all the Baylor Swim Club athletes compete.
The Baylor coaching staff would like to remind our membership of the importance of Summer League swimming to the growth and enhancement of our program. Every Baylor Swim Club member who participates, officiates, coaches or attends the CASL City meet has a great opportunity to spread the word about the benefits of Baylor Swim Club and year round swimming. Our coaches will have a tent set up at the City meet, and are ready to answer questions for prospective members. This meet is a great way for all members get involved in building our program.
So have a blast this weekend! Be a good sport, make to new friends, and spread the word about the Baylor program, the greater Chattanooga area program on the move!

Practice Schedule Changes for July
There are several practice schedule changes to be aware of for the end of June and July. Please make a note of these changes on your calendar.
July 14-15- NO PRACTICE for the Junior groups due to the CASL City Meet in Fort Oglethorpe, GA
July 17-20- NO PM Practice for Junior group, Only AM practices will be offered for the Junior group during this week.
July 20- Final Baylor Swim Club Practice for the Summer; Practice is TBA for those swimming at Zones or Futures Championships
Baylor Swim Club Registration for the 2017-2018 Season
The coaching staff just wanted to take some time to update you on registration for the fall. Registration information, dates, and the first practice for the 2017-2018 Baylor Swim Club season is just around the corner. Those swimmers that will be moving up into a new practice group will be notified by the coaching staff at the end of July / beginning of August. Please see the following important information/dates below regarding the 2017-2018 season.
Monday, August 7- Returning Member Online Registration OPENS
Tuesday & Wednesday, August 22 or 23- New Swimming Evaluation Placement (5:00-6:00 PM) at the Baylor School Natatorium (new swimmers only need to attend one of the evaluation dates)
Wednesday, August 23- New Member Online Registration OPENS
Tuesday, August 29- All-American Swim Supply in the Baylor School Natatorium Lobby (3:30-6:00 PM)
Thursday, August 31- Practices Begin for ALL groups
Thursday, August 31- Fall Parent Meeting (6:00 PM)

Summer Movie Outing- Tuesday, July 18th
The Baylor Swim Club (Developmental, AG, Junior, & Senior) practice groups will be going to see Despicable Me 3at 11:30 AM at the AMC Majestic 12 Downtown on Tuesday, July 18th. Junior group parents are welcome to drop their kids off at the theater, and will be under the Coaches supervision. Those in the AG or Developmental groups are welcome to attend, but must be accompanied by a parent at the movie.
Please be sure to bring money for a movie ticket and snacks if you wish to purchase them. This is a great way to keep your kids out of the sun, and get some rest before the upcoming meets. Please email Coach Brian if you have any questions.
Apply Now- Scholastic All-American Application Now Available
Applications for the 2016-17 Scholastic All-America recognition program are now available on the USA Swimming website. This membership recognition program is for USA Swimming student-athletes who have completed the 10th – 12th grades in 2016-17 and have swum a qualifying pool time or competed in one of four designated Disability meets or the USA Swimming National Open Water Championships. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year and a school transcript for the year is needed before applying for SAA. The application deadline is Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
Freeman & Coach Flack to Represent Team USA at FINA World Junior Championships
CHATTANOOGA, TN- On Tuesday, July 11th USA Swimming released the complete rosters for the 2017 FINA World Junior Championships to be held August 23-28, 2017 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, IN. Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club athlete Trey Freeman earned his space on the FINA World Junior Team with his performance at the Phillips 66 National Championships at the end of June.
Due to Freeman's performance at the National Championships, Head Coach Dan Flack was also selected to represent Team USA as a member of their coaching staff.

Hotel Information for the 2017 Long Course Season
Below you will find hotel booking information for away swim meets during the 2017 long course season for the Baylor Swim Club. In order to access this information you will need to login to the member section of the website.
Spring Parents Meeting Information Handout Now Available
Thank you to all that were able to attend the Spring Parents meeting. The Parent Information handout from the spring parent meeting held on April 6, 2017 is now available on the website. See the link above for all the parent meeting information. The handout from the meeting will be emailed out to the entire club, and it is posted in the member news section of the website.
The SUMMER (June & July) swimming lessons schedule is now available. ALL swimming lessons registration and payment for the 2016-2017 season must be completed online. Online registration dates for both RETURNING and NEW members are also available.
Deck Pass is the official mobile application for USA Swimming. Deck Pass is truly for all ages and abilities. There is something for everyone, whether you are an athlete, parent, coach, official, volunteer, or simply a fan. Please see the following important information below regarding Deck Pass- USA Swimming's APP, and information about your USA Swimming Membership card(s).
We have gone ahead and created a page in the member news section with all the information about the Deck Pass APP, however in order to access it you will need to login to the members section of the website. See the link below.
New folders have been created for the 2015-2016 season and are available. All awards from meets and past meets will be filed in the athletes folders on the pool deck. Each athlete on the Baylor Swim Club should have a folder where these awards will be placed after meets. Many ribbons and medals from past meets have also been filed there as well. Please have your child check the folders on the pool deck after practices. The folder boxes are located on a table next to the staff office on the pool deck. If for some reason your child does not have a folder, please email Coach Brian.
Fall Parents Meeting Information Handout Now Available

Team Handbook Now Available
The 2016-2017 Baylor Swim Club Team Handbook is now available on the website. The Team Handbook consists of all the policies and procedures for members that have joined the Baylor Swim Club. See the link above for the team handbook.
Volunteer Handbook Now Available
The Baylor Swim Club Volunteer Handbook is now posted online. Listed below are many of the opportunities available for parents to contribute and show their support of the Baylor Swim Club. Most positions are only necessary during home meets. See the link above for the volunteer handbook.
Locker Room Use
This is a reminder to all Baylor Swim Club members, that the only locker rooms that should be used are the lower school boys and girls locker rooms. The upper school locker rooms and lockers are reserved only for Baylor School Varsity swimmers. Please remember not to leave any personal belongings in the locker rooms or lockers. All equipment and belongs need to be taken home each night after practices. If any personal belongings or equipment are left in the locker rooms, it will be collected and placed in the lost and found area in the equipment room / endless pool room. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Website Login Information
The coaching staff has been posting some important information that you will need to know so please take the time to get a login and begin checking the MEMBER NEWS section on a consistent basis. Below you will find directions on how to get a member login.
Directions for Member Login
• Go to the main menu on the www.baylorswimming.org homepage and click LOGIN
• On the login screen click REGISTER in the bottom left hand corner of the login box
• On the REQUEST LOGIN page please fill out all of the required information.
• Once this is completed the administrator of the website will verify that you are a member of Baylor Swim Club.
• Following this you will receive an email giving you further login directions with a username and password
After you have logged in for the first time, please take the time to fill out the brief family information form. We are trying to collect as much info electronically as possible. You can find the family info form under the members tab on the main menu.
If for some reason you are having issues logging in or you need your password reset please email Coach Brian.

News from the Club Office
Parents, I just want to review some billing items with you. The TeamUnify system will bill accounts to you on the 1st of every month. The statements will contain your monthly dues and any other charges such as caps meet fees hospitality fees, etc. and a late fee will be assessed on the 21st of each month. Any payments that are unable to be processed on the 1st will accrue processing fees in addition to the charges. This fee comes from our processing merchant. Any accounts that are 30 days past due will result in your child being held out of the water.
Our developmental sessions are 8 week sessions so you will receive statements bi-monthly with the monthly dues. As long as you are registered before the first day of the session you will be ready to participate in that session. Once you have registered the first time you will no longer be charged the USA and Club registration fees. Those fees are only charged at the beginning of each new swim year. Through TeamUnify you will automatically be billed for the next developmental session unless you have emailed the club by the 5th day of the month preceding the next session. So if you do not want to participate in session 2 you must email the club no later the October 5th. Telling your coach that you are not doing the next session will not keep you from being billed. Be sure to send the email to the club.
We will not allow children to practice until the online registration has been completed.
If you are planning on taking a break and your child is in AG, Junior, or Senior, remember in order not to be billed for the next month I need to have written notification at least 30 days in advance. So for example, if you know you are not going to swim in December I must receive an email from you stating that no later than Nov.1. If the written statement is not received by that date you will be charged. Please understand that telling the coach does not count as proper notification. Notifications must be sent to Laura Pitman.
