Baylor Swimmers Conduct YMCA Stroke Clinic

This past Saturday evening, April 19th several Baylor Swim Club senior/varsity athletes conducted a swim clinic at the local Hamilton Family YMCA to support the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. All proceeds from this event will go towards benefiting this campaign.

Baylor Shows Toughness at IMX Pentathlon

On Sunday, April 13th over thirty Baylor Swim Club athletes kicked-off its’ long course season with the 14 & Under IMX Pentathlon held at the Baylor School Natatorium. In order to receive an award for this meet, athletes had to participate in all five events offered, and finish in the top 8 in combined points for their age group. Trophies were awarded to swimmers who finished in the top 3. Overall, Baylor had eleven athletes finish in the top three for their age group, and they received trophies for their efforts.

Martin Grodzki Enjoys Great Grand Prix

Baylor Swim Club members Martin Grodzki and Brad Hamilton had a great meet at the Toyota Grand Prix held in Columbus, Ohio on the campus of Ohio State University. This was one of the top competitions in the world with the likes of Olympic Gold medal winners, World Record Holders

Baylor Swim Club Claims 4th at Junior Nats!!!

This past week, March 18-22, fourteen elite Baylor Swim Club athletes competed in the 2008 NCSA Junior National Championships. The meet featured the best 18 and Under swimmers that the nation has to offer. Overall, the Baylor Swim Club finished fourth out of 800 teams across the country and scored a total of 276 points in the combined team scores. This was the highest finish ever for Baylor at this meet. The final evening of competition was once again led by strong relays. The girls 400 medley relay team of Arden Pitman, Alison Lusk, Erin Simpson, and Sloane Pitman captured third place overall in the event.

Baylor School Wins Eastern Prep Championship!

The Baylor School flew north to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and walked away with a great weekend experience in and out of the pool. The Baylor boys emerged victorious at the 108th Eastern Prep Championship held at LaSalle University Kirk Natatorium, while the Baylor girls placed third. Baylor won the most swimming events of any team, seven, and the combined point total of 930 was the most of any school in the meet

Baylor School Sweeps Tennessee State Titles!!

After the final day of the 2008 Tennessee State High School Swimming and Diving Championships the Baylor School has come away with the girls, boys, and combined team championships. This was the first time in ten years that the girls' team has won the title. The boys were able to defend their championship racking up a total of 377 points. In the combined meet Baylor accumulated an unprecedented 668.5 points. Knoxville-Webb was second in the combined meet with 314 points.

Vredeveld Leads Baylor at Southeasterns

This past weekend, February 21-24, a small but strong contingent of nineteen Baylor Swim Club athletes competed in the 2008 Southeastern Swimming Short Course Championships held at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, TN. In order to compete in the meet the athletes had to achieve qualifying time standards. Over 900 athletes from the states of Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida competed in the championship affair. Leading the way for the Baylor Swim Club was twelve-year-old Kristen Vredeveld.

18 New Southeastern Cuts Achieved @ Districts

This past weekend, February 15-16 the Baylor Swim Club hosted and competed in the 2008 Southeastern Swimming District East Championship at the Baylor School Natatorium. This was the last chance for all ten and older swimmers to try for Southeastern Swimming Championship qualifying times. The meet also served as the 8 & Under championship for the Southeastern Swimming eastern district. Overall, the Baylor Swim Club achieved 18 new qualifying time standards to compete in the Southeastern Swimming Short Course Championships in Nashville on February 21-24.

Baylor Takes SE Middle School Championship!!

The Baylor middle school girls swim team, setting three new meet records, won the 2008 Southeastern Middle School Championships at the Baylor School Natatorium Saturday. The boys team finished 11th but helped win the combined title. Along with the Baylor Middle School swimmers competing this past weekend there were are several Baylor Swim Club members representing their respective Middle School's at the meet.

Records Fall In Wins Over McCallie & GPS

The Baylor School Varsity high school teams posted some fast times in a college dual meet format meet victory against rivals the McCallie School and Girls Preparatory School at the Baylor School Natatorium. The boys won over McCallie by a score of 145 to 60 and the ladies won over GPS 140 to 75. Baylor set two school records and seven pool records.

Baylor WINS Southeastern Swimming Title!!!!

For the first time in team history, the Baylor Swim Club has come away with the Southeastern Long Course Swimming Championship. The Baylor Swim Club won the medium size team championship title scoring 1224 points, and with that point total they finished fourth overall, which includes teams that have two times the number of swimmers entered in the meet. Along with the impressive team championship, seven Baylor swimmers made the 2007 Zone All-Star meet to be held in Houston, TX next week.
